The_DJ:
Watching James Ellis behind the decks and listening with even the most critical ear you would never guess that he has been DJing for little over 4 years the rapid journey from his bedroom to the UKs best nightclubs has been a joy for this enthusiastic hard dance lover.
Like many DJs James first bought his decks whilst at University just to create his own tailor-made mix tapes; Influenced by the Trade sound and the many quality London DJs like Pete Wardman and Steve Thomas that have helped forge the hard house scene to its current stature.
A few years on and James Ellis can boast headline slots at Gloucestershires longest running hard dance night Get Twisted- performing at the Gloucester Guild Hall and the Cirencester Corn Hall to over 600 clubbers, 2 long standing residencies in his home town and guest slots all over the UK at superclubs like The Brunel Rooms, The Sanctuary and The Fridge. At these many events he has supported the biggest names in hard dance like Lisa Lashes, Andy Farley, BK, Ed Real and many others.
James is known and respected locally for his unwavering, admired technical proficiency and his uplifting hard dance having been one of the first DJs in Cheltenham to champion the then popular Nukleuz/Tidy Trax hard house sound at his first proving ground of Po Na Nas. This first residency created a massive following locally and this support has been a springboard for his future. Today a crew of supporters and friends follows him to most of his gigs. With more national gigs every week including a forthcoming booking for Slinky, and the home town success of James own events - the future looks bright.
The_Promoter:
James is known as one of the regions hardest working DJs and promoters. Not content with local and nationwide bookings he has turned to the devils art of promoting to further his own profile and to offer such opportunities to local talent and friends alike.
He has promoted Fudge in Cardiff (Club CF1) and Gloucester (Guildhall) over the last 3 years to great success, with features on the BBC website and as well as rave reviews in Cardiffs entertainment weekly: Buzz magazine.
He is also part promoter of Residency (PoNaNas Cheltenham + The Sanctuary Birmingham) a new tough trance night featuring the best of the superclub residents , with much press coverage - including being ranked in the top 75 clubnights in the UK by Mixmag for 3 months running.
